Description of module content:

The online module is designed for all Global Online (GO) Postgraduate students within the Business School. The module aims to provide students with a longitudinal induction, guiding them from professionalism in the virtual classroom to broader career awareness and guidance. The module contains ten units covering a variety of skills such as time management, digital literacy and communication, digital research skills, academic writing, and how to learn from feedback. The purpose of the module is to improve the overall student experience, addressing specific skills gaps for identified individuals while also fostering a more balanced skill set for all students within their respective cohorts.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Demonstrate digital proficiency in navigating and utilising online learning platforms (e.g. Moodle, Webex and Teams) for academic success.

LO2: Develop digital communication skills (e.g. effective use of email and video conferencing tools, and showcase etiquette in online communications) and apply them within the context of your postgraduate programme.

LO3: Understand the importance of time management and study skills for online learning and continue to develop your online study skills throughout the programme.

LO4: Develop academic skills such as academic writing, critical thinking, and learning from feedback to achieve academic success.
