Assessment
Type of Assessment Weighting % LOs covered Week due Length in Hours/Words Description
Report 15 1~2 Week 6 , WORDS= 1000 words You are required to complete and submit a project plan. This is to ensure that you have started to engage with your project, have undertaken some initial reading, have thought about the steps you are going to need to take to complete your project and estimated the time each of these will take.
Centrally Time Tabled Examination 70 1~2~3~4 Exam Period HOURS= 3000 words You are required to select one of the topics below and investigate this topic through academic reading and write up your findings as part of your report. You are also required to contact an industry business of your choice (preferably one with whom you already have contact) and investigate how this particular topic is handled in their establishment.
Centrally Time Tabled Examination 15 Exam Period HOURS= 1000 words Assessment C is the Self-Evaluation Log, to be submitted alongside the project report. This log serves two essential purposes:It functions as a record of the planning, tasks, and progress made throughout the project. It provides an opportunity for reflecting on the learning process, allowing for an evaluation of the skills and knowledge gained during the project's completion. The log is not merely a list of completed tasks. It is important to critically consider the learning that occurred during each step. For instance, was a new source of information discovered? Were different perspectives engaged by comparing the ideas of two authors on a topic? Was a theoretical model applied to a real-world scenario within a chosen industry?Reflection is a central component of the log. Rather than focusing only on the tasks completed, it is essential to consider how each task contributed to the overall understanding of the subject matter and why it was significant. In the final section of the log, the entire process should be reviewed holistically. Key questions to consider include:What was done well?Where was there room for improvement? How might a similar project be approached differently in the future?Engaging in this self-evaluation not only documents the project's progress but also provides valuable insights into personal learning strategies, helping to refine them for future tasks.
