Description of module content:

The module introduces you to all aspects of business tourism. It begins by analysing the concepts of ‘business travel’ and ‘business tourism’, discussing definitions and differences. You will examine demand and supply issues in both individual business travel and MICE tourism. The module will also consider the role of the destination in business tourism, the potential impacts of business tourism, and the relationships between business and leisure tourism. We will conclude by considering the buyer point of view – what is the purpose of the events, and what legacy do they leave behind? You will learn about these diverse components of the Business Tourism Industry, and the role that they have to play within the wider tourism context.
