Prerequisites

Requisites: Pre-requisite: Candidates must be an internationally registered nurse who has been recruited by NHS Lothian to complete the NMC OSCE preparation training and subsequent NMC OSCE to gain NMC registration

Description of module content:

The following theoretical content is deigned to help you to prepare for your Nursing Midwifery Council competence test. We will use a blended approach to teach you how to care for patients, clients and service users. This blended approach includes online work and face-to-face practical skills. You should also practice these as part of you clinical practice experience within your health boards. Each of the potential skills you may get assessed on are discussed extensively in the content on Community Moodle Module.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Practice in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates’(NMC, 2022) to develop core professional values of honesty, integrity and without discrimination

LO2: Demonstrate effective communication written and verbal , relationship management and procedural skills which are evidence-based, safe, effective, compassionate and respectful

LO3: Participate in a range of skills to meet the physical and mental health needs of individuals of all ages under supervision of a health and/or social care professional.

LO4: Demonstrate the ability to practice procedures safely understanding the importance of following procedural guidelines
