Description of module content:

In this module you will be introduced to foundational web technologies. The module provides an overview of technologies involved in the development of websites and basic networking protocols for the internet. You will build skills in web page design and development, including HTML and CSS. You will also build your skills in client and server side programming using JavaScript.

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

Practical Skills Assessment 60 3~4~5 Week 13 HOURS= 36 hours You will create a multi-page website which combines client-side and server-side processing, user interface styling and data management. You will demonstrate your website to a module tutor who will ask you questions about your approach and implementation. This will be accompanied by a critical report where you reflect on the technical aspects of your work.
Class Test 40 1~2~3 Week 8 HOURS= 1 hour online class test consisting of multiple choice questions. The questions will relate to UI design, concepts of html styling using CSS and JavaScript and basic knowledge of web technologies.
